    < Back to Projects

    Moorebank, NSW

The Moorebank Intermodal Precinct (MIP) is a 243 ha logistics and intermodal precinct with direct rail access to Port Botany (Australia's largest shipping port) and is an open access intermodal facility with a capacity of 1 .5 million TEU (20ft containers) throughout per annum across the IMEX and Interstate Terminals, operated by automated container handling equipment 24/7.

The "twin terminal" intermodal facility comprises an IMEX (import-export) terminal as well as an Interstate Terminal and integrates autonomous vehicles, automated materials handling equipment, "dark facilities" and will be supported by approximately 850,000sqm of warehousing and up to 8,000sqm of commercial and retail services facilities along with 60 MW of rooftop solar across the estate.

Tactical Group has been involved in the MIP development from inception, working closely with our client QUBE Holdings and subsequently LOGOS in 2021 along with numerous stakeholders including Investors, all tiers of government, statutory authorities, agencies and local communities. We have acted as the lead feasibility, masterplanning and development advisor in forming the business case and have progressed the development over the past 14 years to manage the delivery, design and contract superintendence of major infrastructure (rail, roads, bridges, terminals etc) as well as significant facilities on site.

The highly automated and integrated MIP development is at the forefront of technology and sustainability, and to date we have delivered physical works with a total cost of $1.5 billion, and continue to do so for this nationally significant project.
